
"Reserve Component" refers collectively to the seven individual reserve components of the armed forces: 1) Army National Guard of the U.S.; 2) Army Reserve; 30 Navy Reserve; 4) Marine Corps Reserve; 5) Air National Guard of the U.S.; 6) Air Force Reserve; and 7) Coast Guard Reserve. Since the end of the Cold War (1990), reservists have been involuntarily activated by the federal government 6b times; an average of once every four years.
